BIC is the Bank Identifier Code. You need these to receive payments from some countries. They're used instead of your account number and sort code. When making a domestic payment by credit transfer or direct debit, BIC (Bank Identifier Code) and IBAN (International Bank Account Number) have replaced National Sort Code (NSC) and Account Number as the main payment identifiers for all SEPA payments. When the contact for an invoice has a UK address, you will need to complete the additional step outlined below in order to display your IBAN and BIC numbers on the invoice. These include the USA, Canada, and China, which use the SWIFT code or BIC instead.
